反氣旋「路西法」（Lucifer）橫掃南歐，西班牙、葡萄牙與義大利等國家火災頻傳，西西里島更在11日紀錄了攝氏48.8度的溫溫，將破義大利在1999年所創下的高溫紀錄。

《法新社》報導，義大利南方多地的氣溫來到攝氏39度到42度，預計隨著反氣旋向北移動，托斯卡納和拉吉歐（包含羅馬）週末將迎來40度的炙熱氣溫。

《美國有線電視新聞網》（CNN）報導，野火席捲了歐洲南部與北非，造成大量人員傷亡，多數集中在阿爾及利亞，該國有少有69人喪生。

半天有3千場火警

消防人員來不及應付層出不窮的火警。根據消防單位通報，12小時之內，有3000多場火警，還必須出動7架飛機支援。火勢蔓延到馬多涅山脈，莊稼、動物、房屋和工廠都被燒毀。

義大利南部墨西拿海峽沿岸的雷焦卡拉布里亞，一名77歲的男子試圖搶救他的牛群時，因不敵火勢而不幸被燒傷而亡。在卡拉布里亞的其他地區，火災還威脅了被聯合國教科文組織國際地質意義的阿斯普羅蒙特山脈。

極端天氣重創經濟
