俄羅斯1架Mi-8運輸直升機日前降落在烏克蘭境內，原先據俄方聲稱這架軍用直升機是「迷了路」，才會降落在烏國境內。不過有最新消息指出，這其實是烏克蘭國防情報局（GUR）長期謀劃的策反行動，這名飛行員先將親屬也送至烏國後，瞞著其他人，駕駛直升機抵達烏東的哈爾科夫。

英國衛報報導，根據烏克蘭媒體「烏克蘭真理報」說法，這名俄軍直升機飛行員負責駕駛Mi-8運輸直升機，主要任務是來往兩個俄羅斯空軍基地之間，替Su-27戰鬥機還有Su-30戰鬥機運輸零件。

烏克蘭國防情報局（GUR）說服他駕駛Mi-8運輸直升機飛往烏克蘭，以獲得俄軍的重要情資，包括俄羅斯戰機的後勤狀況、零件來源與品質，以及俄羅斯軍火工業的技術程度。

根據報導，除了這名正駕駛外，副駕駛還有飛行工程師兩人都不知道他的叛逃計畫，直至飛機降落在哈爾科夫地區，不知情的兩名機組成員可能因為試圖反抗，而遭烏軍槍殺。網路上流傳的照片顯示，裝著戰鬥機零件的紙箱上還留有血跡。

叛逃的俄軍飛行員不僅平安無事，他的家人也在事前被帶離俄羅斯，目前人在烏克蘭境內。

這架Mi-8運輸直升機是具有武裝能力的Mi-8AMTSh，機艙兩側可掛載機槍、火箭彈、反戰車飛彈等武器，但主要任務仍以運輸為主，可攜帶4千公斤的貨物、26名士兵，或作為醫療救護機運送擔架。
